Looking into the mirror, do you really see the YOU, the inner YOU or do you see the 'perfection' in what you believe is YOU.
What truly drives you? Is it who you are as a person or what you have?
Self-image is a great aspect of one's life but not when a person becomes vain about what gives them that self-image. Life should be lived with a balance, the moment there is emphasis on excessiveness of everything, especially concerning material aspects of life, and a person can easily lose direction. Do you realize that the loss of direction will include the loss of family and friends too?
If people believe living a life of vanity is what will make them popular, they have no idea about the rules of life and how the laws of life can teach them to come down to earth. We often forget that life is about giving, in fact, the more we get, the more we should give. There is so much of value with which we as human beings can offer in life and to life but being vain comes with a selfish and arrogant nature. It is a hard lesson in life, and might probably be too late to learn, that life has a way of taking the vain to a space to be simple, to be giving, to be sensitive, to be compassionate and so forth. Never allow life the opportunity to put you in a space were you have nothing and nobody at your side anymore.
“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”
