What makes us better human beings

Hits: 747

When a person starts to think about the next person, about that person's feelings and to do so unselfishly, this makes us better human beings. The moment we base relationships on any expectation, on any assumption, on any condition or rule and on any judgment, this on their own, already manifests selfishness.

As human beings we have inherent traits, but how we feed them is all within our control.  It's true, people do hurt each other and sometimes without any intention however with some, they do hurt others with full intent. Take time to stand in the next person's shoes and imagine receiving the message which you were about to project on them, What do you feel? How do you recover from those spoken words or actions? What will the repercussions be? And will you be able to forgive and forget? To be unconditional in everything we do, to give unconditionally and to always manifest the richness in loving unconditionally is a recipe worth waking up to every single day.

Think about it, how easy have the words 'sorry' and 'I love you' become? It is however not the fix all solution until we can recognize the depth and repercussions of our actions. Day and night people are trying to be better human beings, have we ever asked ourselves why we thriving for this and what do we actually want to accomplish? Is there something within yourself you dislike? Or have you been the receiver of someone else's actions or words?

When you say you're sorry or say I love you, these three words should hold your life in it, these are words that should never be used in vain. It's not a plaster that will patch everything. To harbour any type of envy, selfishness, hatred, vindictiveness, jealousy or grudge do not make us better human beings, however placing ourselves in the next person's shoes, understanding their plight, showing a sense of empathy, and trying not to intentionally hurt another makes us better human beings.

Do you realize that life is not just about you? Admitting your wrong does not make you a weak person but a person with respect and dignity. I love you should never become novelty words, it loses the essence of its meaning, take these words so seriously, as if it holds your life in it.

"Love is the only way to grasp another human being in the innermost core of his personality. No one can become fully aware of the very essence of another human being unless he loves him. By his love he is enabled to see the essential traits and features in the beloved person; and even more, he sees that which is potential in him, which is not yet actualized but yet ought to be actualized. Furthermore, by his love, the loving person enables the beloved person to actualize these potentialities. By making him aware of what he can be and of what he should become, he makes these potentialities come true."
